Purple in Spanish

We all know that the Spanish language is becoming more and more mainstream. So, in order to keep my daughter in touch with the latest and greatest, I have been teaching her colors in Spanish. We will review colors in the morning when we are picking out her hair bows for the day. Last Friday, I was quickly trying to get her ready for school and we were talking colors. She got very excited to show me a purple hair bow that was in her box. She quickly grabbed it looked at me with those big blue eyes and said, "Look Mommy, a purple one!" I was so proud, I responded with "Yes, Allison that is a purple one!" Then I questioned, "Allison, can you say purple in Spanish?" To which she very innocently responded with "Purple in Spanish!"
She wins, yet again.

Swim Lessons

Allison and I have started swim lessons this week. It is a lot of fun. I was initally concerned that the class would be too young for her since we did the whole Mommy and Me swim class this winter. I think it will be fine for her. We are working on blowing bubbles (for Allison that is lapping up the water like Bailey does!), climbing along the pool wall, kicking our feet while holding on to a barbell and climbing out of the pool independently. Allison especially likes the ball toss--the entire time the other kids have the ball, she is saying, "Alli's turn", then when it actually is her turn to throw, she yells, "Alli did it!". She is definitely not afraid of the big water.

She rides the Jeep -- It's a Booker Milestone

G-G has a jeep that she bought when Natalie and John were little. Every grandchild since has ridden in the jeep, it has kind of become a Booker rite of passage. Well, consider it crossed for Allison. When I was packing to go down to G-G's, I saw Allison's helmet in the garage and I thought to myself might as well keep her safe and don't fight an urge I knew she would have. So, here we go. Next week she will want a TV in her room and keys to the Acadia. I still haven't figured out how to slow this stuff down........

Jessica was so proud to drive her around. I couldn't believe she was riding in it. Of course, she was asking to drive it. Thankfully, our coordination isn't quite there yet. I don't think my heart could of taken it!!

John spent some time with Allison teaching her new words. I hope in the future the words he teaches her will continue to be as sweet and innocent as triangle and hexagon. Yes my baby can say hexagon!

What a Weekend!

We had a very busy weekend. It started with a grocery trip to Wegman's. I really thought we were going to get kicked out of the place. Allison managed to knock down two produce displays! I was so flustered that I tucked my list and head and tore up and down the aisles as fast as possible!

Then we headed off to Fiona's birthday party. Allison had a ball playing in the pool and in the sprinkler. Allison wasn't interested in the painting of flower pots, but she did enjoy the pool! We came home and she took a long nap!

Next it was up and off to G-G's! Great G-G is in town for a visit, so all of Allison's cousins were there.

I came to the painful realization that my sweet little baby is now becoming a walking, make that running, talking toddler. She watched her cousins do things (climbing on the picnic table), took mental notes and then decided she could do it. And she did!

Get Well Soon Aunt E!

My 91 year old Great Aunt E (her name is Edith, but my mom couldn't say it) fractured her cuneiform bone which is in her foot. She did that while we were on vacation. She is staying with my Aunt Sue because Aunt E's compressor for her air conditioning is broken. When it rains, it pours! Or fractures! The "queen" is being well taken care of for sure.

Also worth noting our family celebrity, Samantha is also on two other billboards. That' s three billboards. I think she needs an agent.......

Too much vacation!
Bailey was exhausted today. We didn't see him all day and Allison attempted to wake him numerous times, but nothing. He didn't even spend "quality time" with Baby.
I'm not 100% sure I know what I'm doing. So feel free to let me know when you hit a little glitch. I'm sure it will happen. I included in the slideshow some pictures from the beach. We just got back. Allison had a wonderful time. Big water, big water!

Who's the Celebrity ?
Our cousin, Samantha is now featured on a billboard in Reading, PA. Who knew?? Definitely not Samantha. She was surprised to learn that she was featured on a billboard. It's a great picture, so check it out.
Welcome to our blog!
I decided to create a blog after seeing all of my friend's families blogs and just being jealous!! I also thought it would be a good way to keep up to date with the family's happenings and events. I can't guarantee how often I will be blogging, but I will try and keep up with it on at least a weekly basis. Check back often for updates!
