Last week I needed to run some errands and go to the dentist. To insure good behavior on our outing, I told Allison that if she was good, we would go buy nail polish and then paint each other's nails when we got home. Worked like a charm, she was very well-behaved, even at the dentist's office. She of course picked out the brightest pink imaginable.
By far the greatest challenge was encouraging her to keep her fingers and toes still. I wasn't too concerned with smudging, I didn't want pink polish all over the place. After we were done, I put on Mickey Mouse, I knew she would sit for that.
Next, it was her turn to paint my nails. She managed to do that and then paint my whole hand. I just went along with it. She was very proud of herself once she finished my left hand. She was also disinterested, because after that she didn't want to "paint nails anymore". Needless to say after she went to bed, I repainted my nails. I sported the bright pink polish proudly!
